About

The Kultursymposium Weimar will be opened at Weimarhalle. As part of the opening event, the Czech economist Tomáš Sedláček will give a keynote lecture on the topic of »Sharing and Exchange.« Sedláček, an internationally renowned author and chief economist of the Czech Republic’s biggest bank, advocates for a new understanding of the economy and argues for a normative view of economics as a subsystem of culture. Following his lecture, Tomáš Sedláček will speak with the Israeli sociologist Eva Illouz and the German anthropologist Hans Peter Hahn about the relevance of exchange for the constitution of society and the significance of sharing in human spheres such as love, friendship and government.
