The new Play Services Task API launched with Play Services client 9.0.0, along with the Firebase client libraries for Android. The Task API mirrors what's offered by many implementations of Promises used by popular programming environments. In this session, we'll take a look at what Tasks can do for your Android app when it comes to parallelization and concurrency. Firebase happens to make great use of Tasks (as well as other Play Services components), so we'll examine some real use cases for Tasks with Firebase. And we'll even implement a few Tasks of our own!
