In this lecture Ms. Lukaszczyk provides an overview of the EU’s Earth observation program, Copernicus, its space component, data policy and services, with a special emphasis on the Emergency Management and Security service. She highlights the EC’s efforts in supporting the development and marketing of its downstream services and reviews briefly the new EU Space Strategy. Agnieszka Lukaszczyk is an Officer at the Space Data for Societal Challenges and Growth Unit at the European Commission’s (EC) Directorate General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROWTH).
