A soft moon-landing is a feat only accomplished a few times, only by superpower government space agencies with multi-billion dollar budgets (US, USSR and China). Israel, a small country, although having satellite design and manufacturing capabilities, has never adventured farther than low earth orbit. From a few sketches on a piece of paper, drawn by three naive geeks in a pub, to an endeavor having a whole country looking up to it; if (when) successful, SpaceIL’s will be the first commercial mission to ever achieve a soft-landing on another celestial body. The spacecraft will also accomplish several milestones such as being the cheapest, lightest and smallest one to ever reach the moon.
