Alex Lee is a practicing media and entertainment lawyer, a screen/stage director and producer. He was the first non-Pakeha to be elected president of the New Zealand Universities Students Association. He was also the first Asian male to host a nightly current affairs program on English-language public television in Hong Kong. Currently, he is head of the Department of Performing and Screen Arts at Unitec Institute of Technology in Auckkland. He is passionate about the power of story-telling and the use of new forms of digital storytelling to connect different communities. His most recent film, “Hip Hop-eration,” was the most successful NZ documentary feature film in 2014.
