Antonio (“Toni”) Negri is an Italian philosopher and politician. At a young age he was appointed professor of the philosophy of law at the Institute of Political Science of the University of Padua and later became its director. In the 1960s and 1970s he was one of the leaders of the social and political protest movement in Italy. He is a chief representative of Workerism. His work is devoted to modern political philosophy but also to analysis of the globalization phenomenon.
