The always entertaining Bill Spizzirri gives a great talk on Astrometry or how we measure cosmic distances. Bill explains some of the tools we can use to measure distance. He also explains which ones are useful at different distances. Bill originally developed this program for a class of Gifted and Talented 5th graders. He uses non-technical jargon to explain such difficult to understand topics such as: parallax, red shift and how we use Type 1A Supernovas as standard candles.
