Called “design sprints,” this process tackles a different part of the design process each day. The appeal of the design sprint is clear, and it is easy to read the literature on Google design sprints and think that they are the answers to all of your problems for building great products. But what does it actually look like to use this framework in the wild? Over the last year, we have used the design sprint framework to try to solve some of our stickiest product problems in one of the more complex industries: legal. Sometimes we’ve done this successfully, and sometimes not. Our presentation will give an overview of the design sprint framework, talk about how we adapted it and discuss our successes, failures, and lessons learned. We’ll provide useful and actionable insight into how you might be able to use this framework in your company and also talk about when/why you might be better off not using a design sprint.
