Florian Rötzer, born 1953, is a German journalist and author. After studying philosophy in Munich, he worked as a freelance author and author with a focus on media theory and media aesthetics and organized numerous international symposiums. In 1996, Rötzer co-founded the online magazine Telepolis, where he has since been editor-in-chief. His most recent book publications are Vom Wildwerden der Städte (2006), Ist das Leben ein Spiel? (2013), and Smart Cities im Cyberwar (2015).
