Maung Day is a Burma-born poet, editor and visual artist based in Yangon, where he works for Metta Development Foundation, a Burmese local NGO. He was chief editor of Alinka Wutyi music journal and edited Han Thit literary magazine and the art magazine Pan, amongst others. He has published five books of poetry, and a film called “Poems”. His poems have appeared in international magazines such as The Wolf, Guernica, The Awl, Shampoo, Bengal Lights, Poetry International and International Poetry Review. He co-founded the celebrated Beyond Pressure International Performance Art Festival in Myanmar in 2008. His artworks have been showcased home and abroad.
