Sabine Pfeiffer is professor for Sociology at the University of Hohenheim. As a sociologist of work, she has been doing research on the change of technology and labour. Based on her early occupation years as a vocational trained tool maker, manufacturing and automotive production are not mere abstract research fields but her biographical rooted ecosystem. Using the Internet both as object and as a tool for research since the mid 1990s, the effects of digitalization on work became one of her central perspective. Work in IT and software development as well as innovation research, e.g. on agile project management or Design Thinking also are current research topics. Experience in more than 30 research projects of different scope and scale and lately on „Industrie 4.0“, make her an expert on the ongoing disruptive change and joint consequences for qualification, company culture and leadership. Sabine Pfeiffer is member of the scientific board of the German platform ”Industrie 4.0“
