Vanessa Ramos-Velasquez is a media artist and transdisciplinary researcher from Brazil and the United States, where she was a Fulbright scholar. In 2011 she received the Vilém Flusser Theory Award Distinction at transmediale for the works Digital Anthropophagy and the Anthropophagic Re-Manifesto for the Digital Age. She conducts her independent research in the field of Amerindian perspectivism, as well as phenomenology in digital culture at the Vilém Flusser Archive at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK), where she received her MA in new media in an interdisciplinary collaboration with Humboldt University at the Institute for Cultural History and Theory.
