Interventions and Tools within the Framework of Psycholytic Therapy

For nearly 10 years I have been conducting psycholytic therapies with MDMA, LSD, 2C-B and psilocybin in an illegal, ordered – controlled setting. My clientèle comprised people who, after ineffective conventional therapy, wanted to take part in this work on their own free will. There were no targets in terms of diagnoses, duration or frequency of sessions. The psychoactive substances have their own, healing effects. The question as to whether therapeutic interventions as part of a psycholytic therapy should or should not be practised will gain relevance in the future. The first and twenty-fifth or so sessions are clearly very different. On the part of the client, they become more able to work with a substance and control the process. The significance of the substance lessens as the client’s competence grows, whereas the process and its content gains in significance. This change consequently reveals that interventions are necessary in the therapeutic process, especially in terms of integration into day-to-day life. Supportive interventions are also necessary in connection with dispelling and processing dissociative conditions and dreams. In addition to the substance and the therapist, four further tools are presented: live-body-work, modified constellation, the group as a tool and music.
