ConveyUX is a series of events, produced by Blink UX, of interest to user experience professionals. www.conveyux.com When it comes to user experience design, you have to know people. To make sure your users like what you provide, can access it, and are able to use it easily, you have to get into the mind of others, understand who they are, where they’re coming from, what their natural tendencies are. You have to consider the human perspective. As of lately, we are realizing more and more that we don’t know other people. We aren’t as accepting of others differences as we’ve always thought. I believe this is why human-centered design has become such a hot topic lately, across all industries, whether you have a background in user experience or not. Human centered design is inclusive design. Inclusion. The ability to include as many diverse groups in a situation, or in this case, the usability of a product or service, as possible. So what does it take to become inclusive? To think inclusively? To design around the human perspective? It takes knowing yourself. Inclusion starts with I. Join me to dive in deeper on how inclusive design, human-centered design, understanding others, starts with understanding yourself.
