We experience them all the time, and those feelings are heightened when using a new product. The “feelings” or emotional experience is an important piece in the overall user experience of a product, but it is also an elusive piece. How to best capture the emotional experience is an important question in the field and UX professionals are tackling it in a number of different ways. In this talk, Sarah presents our journey at UEGroup to understand how to best capture and quantify emotions in a lean way. Sarah will talk about how UEGroup settled on using a self-reporting tool, and compare it to other methods of emotion capturing. Attendees will be challenged to think about the role emotion plays in research and the user experience, as well as consider what the most appropriate means for measuring emotion might be.
