While the case for a streaming pipeline came with a good "that's neat" factor, the business case was much more difficult. When streaming, real-time, data isn't part of the current business line there are special challenges to argue for building it. This presentation will tell the story of how T-Mobile worked with Lightbend to put together a compelling case that streaming, reactive, data was more than just for nifty dashboards but could also reduce costs, maximize resources, and improve batch processing while laying a foundation for a whole new way of thinking about our customers and our data.
