Driven by new consumer and market expectations, unlocking digital capabilities from legacy systems is vital. We will discuss an approach and some of our patterns of utilizing reactive, distributed, event-driven microservices to unlock functionality from the legacy and concurrently enable new business capabilities at scale. Our approach leverages open source technologies and cloud-native patterns to reinvent a mainframe legacy system and put in place a very flexible yet maintainable core architecture.
