The computation of bivariate orthogonal polynomials

Gerard Meurant, Paris, France For interpolation of functions of two variables on compact domains, it is important to have “good” sets of interpolation points. One way to obtain this is to minimize the Lebesgue constant. To do this it is useful to have a good basis for the sets of bivariate polynomials. This talk will describe how to compute bivariate orthogonal polynomials and how to obtain sets of points with a low Lebesgue constant.
