Adam Janečka, Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Prague, Czech Republic We study the problem of bending of an elastic beam whose response is given by implicit constitutive relation. The beam with rectangular cross-section is subjected to purely lateral loads and is considered to undergo only small deflections. The resulting system of equations for the deflection is supplied with relevant boundary conditions and then it is solved numerically.
