Off late, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has shown great promise in problem solving. However, there are still many open-ends in today’s state-of-the-art algortihms. Can we be inspired by biology and bring the essence and design of efficient neuronal computations into our algorithms? How can principles of biological memory be abstracted for algorithmic learning? Neuroscience and AI can benefit from each other by a closer exchange between the experts thereby developing stronger algorithms based on biological logic. With a background in engineering and systems neuroscience, Prateep is interested in combining the strengths of algorithms and biology.
